The MPSA double-acting piston seal assembly, originally designed for one-piece pistons, is also adaptable for two-piece pistons. This five-piece assembly is highly efficient for medium-duty applications and includes two split tough polymer support rings and two split L-shaped bearings. Grooves on the bearings ensure proper fluid pressure energization of the rubber sealing element’s multi-lips, while the support ring’s extending lips protect the sealing element from extrusion damage and prevent pressure trapping during operation.
